When the Ant-Man movie came out (2015), I was reminded of Hollywood's complete lack of original ideas. Here was a
movie based on a character who had first appeared fifty-three years earlier(!) in Tales to Astonish #35
(September 1962, although his alter-ego Henry Pym had debuted earlier that year in issue #27). Perish forbid
that a movie studio should have to come up with original stories and characters. Still,
the movie just might have served to remind people familiar with those early comic books of how much
The Wasp (Janet Van Dyne) deserved to be spanked by Hank Pym. She actually loved Pym and only
bratted him to get him to show that he cared for her, but still she deserved and would probably have been quite
grateful to receive a spanking from him. (We know in the movie Scott Lang and
not Henry Pym was the Ant-Man, but we're only interested in the early comics.) It seems that Magx, our
artist here, would agree with us, for he drew this very fine piece in 2019 featuring Pym spanking Janet
in their original costumes, and her dialogue is notable "Whatever - Ow! - gets you attention, big man!" (The
"big man" reference probably means the scene is set in the slightly-later era when Pym for a while became
Giant-Man instead of Ant-Man).
The OTK positioning is good, chosen to ensure a right-angle bend at the Wasp's waist, but not realistic since a
female's center of mass is at her hips and Janet would inevitably have tended to fall backward and downward toward
the floor. Her position as frozen in time is however very good, and we get a fine view of her bare
bottom. Humor is supplied from the use of the flyswatter as the spanking implement, and the background work
is solid. All in all it makes us want to see more of the artist, but the only "Magx" we could find online
was a magnetic hand-tracking system (wonder how it would record a hand being used for spanking?).
