What better way to cap off our three-year Comic Strip Series than with this tribute to strip-spanking by Tim, last seen in these pages recently with Modesty Blaise #1? The Captain (from The Captain and the Kids) does the honors while Dixie Dugan is the principle spankee as other spankees (Lois Lane and Daisy Mae) rub their bottoms and spankees-to-be Olive Oyl, Blondie, Alisa, and Jessica Rabbit, who alone originates from outside the strip world eagerly await their turns over his knee. Dixie's OTK positioning and red bottom are very well done, reminding us what a pity it is that of all the spankings in Dixie Dugan, Dixie herself had her behind whacked exactly once, although at least it was a good, stinging swat with a paddle.
Michael wrote to us:
"The phrase "The prettiest girl in comics" was used in early advertisements for Brenda Starr. I recall readers voted her the character they'd most like to see spanked [this was in a 2010 CSR Bulletin Board poll - Web-Ed], which seems odd to me since she was indeed spanked in her own comic. I'd prefer Dixie Dugan, partly because she hasn't (as far as we know) been spanked [Michael wrote this before Phil Sweetspot discovered Dixie's paddling - Web-Ed] and also because she was apparently based on the delectable flapper-star Louise Brooks. Her cartoon is attached as well. You may be surprised to see who her spanker is."
